Essential Prototyping

Prototyping is a vital tool for visualising ideas, collecting user feedback, and refining requirements. However, it may not always be essential, particularly in agile environments where iterative development is valued. Some questions that arise here are:

  • What are the advantages of prototyping for user feedback and reducing risks?
  • What are the challenges and limitations, such as time constraints and scope creep?
  • How does prototyping integrate with agile methodologies?
  • What are real-life examples of successful and unnecessary prototyping?

Software as a Garden

There are plenty of analogies comparing software development to art, writing, bridge building, house construction, and more. While out for a walk last night, I noticed weeds taking over the neighbourhood. This got me thinking about debugging as weeding. Sure enough, I'm not alone.

Sometimes these analogies are helpful; sometimes they're not. What's your preferred analogy? How does it help? Where does it fall short?

Ideal Development Machine Specs

Chat Post Featured Image

Hello Everyone! Today we are going to discuss the specs for your ideal development machine. Do you prefer a desktop or a laptop? How much RAM, hard drive space, CPU, and other resources do you use during normal development? Is it worth it to getting an AI CPU or GPU? AMD or Intel CPU?

Inspired by the fact I need to upgrade my desktop. I only dive into the world of hardware when I need to upgrade, which is every 5 years or so, and just started my research for my new desktop.

Everyone and anyone are welcome to join as long as you are kind, supportive, and respectful of others. Zoom link will be posted at 12pm MDT.
